About us:
A stay at Malkin Tower Holiday Cottages is being welcomed into Rachel and Andrew Turner’s beautiful sanctuary overlooking the Pennine countryside. These quaint cottages are the perfect place for a green getaway. Get snuggled up with a good book or get out onto the surrounding hills to blow away the cobwebs. The warm welcome that greets you will make a holiday at Malkin Tower feel like a home away from home. Idyllic. See if you can spot some of the local wildlife that’s also resident on the farm.
Green statement:
'We found working towards the Gold GTBS Award extremely interesting. To obtain this award we encourage our guests to recycle their waste, sign up to our guests' charter and plant a tree to offset their carbon footprint. We provide an environmental and sustainability folder in each cottage, which contains details of farmers' markets, pubs and restaurants, local walks and other local information. We have an abundance of wildlife around are business and so have planted around 8,500 trees and hawthorn, blackthorn etc, to form a natural environment for the birds and wildlife.'

What's green about ....:
At Malkin Tower whilst the emphasis is on providing a fantastic holiday experience we try to minimise the environmental impact. In recognition of this commitment we have been awarded a Gold Award by the Green Tourism Business Scheme. Some of the actions we have implemented have been planting many thousands of native trees and hedgerows on the farm to create habitats for wild birds, insects and animals; harvesting rain water; wherever possible supporting local producers, shops, restaurants, pubs and cafes and encouraging non car based activities for guests, by providing information on activities such as cycling, walking and wildlife watching in the area.
