Local Buses
The main bus service through Forest of Bowland National Landscape is bus 11, linking Clitheroe (connecting with Clitheroe Line trains from/to Manchester), Bashall Eaves, Dunsop Bridge, Newton-in-Bowland, Slaidburn, Tosside and Settle (for Leeds-Settle-Carlisle railway) on Monday to Saturday.
Bus 5 runs between Clitheroe, Whalley, Ribchester, Longridge and Chipping, with buses every hour on Monday to Saturday and every two hours on Sundays.
Buses 66, 66S and 67 together provide a daily service skirting Pendle Hill, running between Clitheroe, Waddington, Grindleton, Chatburn, Barley, Barrowford and Nelson.
To the west of the National Landscape lies the market town of Garstang, a perfect gateway to Bowland, and easily reached every day by bus 40/41 between Preston and Lancaster, bus 42 between Blackpool and Lancaster and bus 88 between Knott End-on-Sea and Lancaster.
In the Lune Valley, bus 81 runs daily between Lancaster, Caton, Hornby, Wray, Wennington, Melling and Kirkby Lonsdale.

Railway Links
The Bentham Line links Leeds and Skipton in the east with Lancaster and Morecambe, skirting the northern edge of the Forest of Bowland National Landscape - click here for further information and linked walking opportunities.

How to get to the area
By Train
Clitheroe Interchange is the most central rail station for Bowland. Others include Giggleswick, Clapham, Bentham, Wennington, Settle, Blackburn, Burnley, Preston and Lancaster. Go to the official National Rail Enquiries for your journey details.
