About Northwood:
Northwood farm is a 250-acre upland, beef, and sheep farm, run by Philip and Alison Marginson, who both also lead the farm educational visits, with Alison's previous occupation being a secondary school teacher. There is a wide variety of livestock, birds, wildlife, flora, and fauna, which offers a wide range of subjects to explore on each visit, with animals always available to interact with. The farm is approximately 700 to 1000 feet above sea level with great views overlooking Pendle Hill and Burnley and hosts a wide range of habitats such as grassland, rivers, streams, and woodlands creating a wide range of interactive classroom resources. Northwood are determined to make their visits available for all, with a disabled access toilet, and some areas of the farm accessible for wheelchair users.

Activities:
Alison and Philip are keen to work with teachers to tailor educational sessions centred on farming, food production and the countryside. Visits can be adapted to complement the curriculum and can be influenced by the individual groups or schools visiting. - PARKING – Minibuses can park on site, Coaches can stop at the top of the farm road, followed by a 2-minute walk to the farm.
