These will also generate heat and hot water for the classroom and office when there is spare capacity. We have introduced recycling bins to encourage visitors to separate their rubbish, and we have switched to environmentally friendly soap in our washrooms.'
Visitor experiences – all the extra touches!:
Wildlife watching - opportunities onsite for excellent wildlife watching
Walking - excellent opportunities from our door, including maps and walking routes
Carbon conscious – we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint through thorough energy, water and waste reduction measures
What's green about ....:
Bowland Wild Boar Park has some superb sustainability features including solar hot water, solar PV and wind turbine all with monitors positioned in the eco lodge so that guests can see their live generation. The eco lodge has great interpretation boards and activities particularly for kids to teach them in a fun and interactive way the impacts of humans and how we can improve this. Water is provided by a borehole that is UV treated and disposed of through an eco treatment system. A pond has been created next to the cafe to view the wonderful wildlife and there are lots of walks on site.
