About us:
In just eight years, this working farm has become the setting for a beautiful country garden. What was once an area for grazing sheep is now bursting with colour and life. This large, tranquil garden contains a wide range of natural environments including a cottage garden, woodland, ponds and streams, rockeries and lawns. Sit on the patio and enjoy the peace of the afternoon, or walk through the orchard full of summer fruits; visit the formal parterre with its box and yew hedges or just take in the magnificent views.
Green statement:
'Cobble Hey has a real commitment to delivering a sustainable visitor attraction – we serve local food in the tearoom and use own home grown/reared produce where ever possible. We always re-use materials within the garden and have a strong recycling policy. We also have a strong commitment to education and working with local schools and other partnerships.'
Visitor experiences – all the extra touches!:
Wildlife watching - opportunities onsite for excellent wildlife watching
Conservation – manage our land to conserve habitats and attract wildlife
Walking - excellent opportunities from our door, including maps and walking routes
Local produce – we use or promote local and fair trade products or provide homemade/home grown products
What's green about ....:
Cobble Hey work closely with Lancashire County Council’s Countryside Service and RSPB to improve fields and hedgerows for nesting wading birds and extra care is taken when working on the land to ensure that nesting birds and wildlife are not disturbed. We have a bird hide to enable visitors to view the wildlife on the farm either by foot or by use of the tramper. To aid guests with an appreciation for the local countryside and to encourage sustainable activities we provide maps and guides for walkers, bridle access, tramper and cyclists. All our gardening is pesticide free and we compost garden and vegetable waste.

Get closer to nature in the Forest of Bowland and visit Cobble Hey and get a taste of excellent home cooking. We source all our produce locally, and we prepare it all freshly on site. From home baked scones with jam and cream to Goosnargh chicken or turkey served on sandwiches or jacket potatoes just to name a few. We open from Thursday to Sunday from 10.30 – 4.30, with something for the whole family.
