7 simple steps to making felt with Annie Coxey

1. Choose your fleece – lots of beautiful colours to suit the piece you want to create

2. Gently pull sections of fleece out and lay them onto a piece of bamboo blind to make your picture

3. Cover carefully with netting and gently pour on warm water

4. Add a squirt of soap and rub gently all over

 

5. Take the netting off – mind nothing sticks! – turn the fleece over, put the netting back on and give it all another good rub – go for it this time!

 
 

6. Take the netting off again, roll up fleece and bamboo together and give everything a really good roll.  After 20 rolls, undo everything, turn the fleece 90˚, wrap it all up and roll again.  Repeat several times.

(At this point you might well be standing in a pool of soapy water so take care not to slip!)

7. Carefully unroll everything to reveal your (almost) finished masterpiece!  Now all you need to do is rinse it in warm water, let it dry (and then decide what you're going to make next…..!)
